Uver bits n' bobs
Just a quick musical note (Bb) on Steve's recent holiday to Alykanas, Zante (Zakynthos) one of the Greek islands.
For the first couple of days had to put up with the usual crap music played in the bars and taverna's ie Rap, R&b and Black Lace (uuuughhh). Then on the third night we was wanderin past this bar when Hallelujah what does one hear but the opening bars of Paranoid, well blood n' stomach pills says me, I think we will partake of a little Mythos in here. That was it, we had found ZANZIBA the only bar in town that played ROCK, and so we spent the next 12 nights frequenting this Oasis in the musical desert that is Alykanas. It turns out that Denis (the bars co-owner with his wife Cheryl) is an old rocker, plays bass guitar and is trying to get live music into the resort for next summer, good on yer Denis. Also he has a brilliant collection of CD's behind the bar. We spent many an evening supping Mythos and Amstel listening to the likes of Deep Purple, Pink Floyd, AC/DC etc. The highlight being the night we were there till around 2:30 in the morning playing pool, supping Amstel with Made in Japan (Deep Purple) blastin out on the stereo system.
